The capers in salt from Salina DOP are produced by the Lorenzo Mirabito farm on the island of Salina in Sicily, in the Aeolian Islands.
To grow PDO capers in salt, the natural fertility of the volcanic soil is exploited, promoting it with limited interventions that exclude the use of fertilizers, additives and chemical fertilizers.
They release truly particular and unique flavors and smells, they are able to give each dish an inebriating fragrance, with warm colors and a taste that takes you back to distant times, embellishing any dish through their intense, distinct and refined flavor. They marry perfectly with many ingredients and this makes them perfect with olives, especially black ones, vegetables such as aubergines, to season colorful and tasty salads, with pasta, rice and potatoes, very good for seasoning pizza, to garnish meat or fish dishes giving them a unique touch.
