The Leopard - Fine Art Prints

The Leopard is the symbol of declining Sicilian nobility, embodied by Prince Fabrizio Salina. The elegant 18th-century sofa evokes the prestige and refinement of an aristocracy that once held power but is now motionless in the face of historical change. The image of the Leopard reclining on that sofa suggests precisely this inertia: a proud, wild animal rendered docile, just like a ruling class that, despite still having privileges, has lost its purpose. The contrast between the sofa and the Leopard, between luxury and the wild, reinforces the idea of a power now hollowed out, preserved more as a symbol than as a reality.
