Red Etna lava
Red Etna lava
Native to the slopes of Etna, Nerello Mascalese takes on different characteristics depending on the area in which it is raised. On the terraces of the Vajasindi estate these black grapes give life to Lavico Etna Rosso, a wine with an elegant structure, which is partly aged in French oak barriques, fresh and delicately savory.
Vintage: 2021
Contains sulfites.
Made in Sicily, Italy
In an area to which the soil of volcanic origin gives unique characteristics, Duca di Salaparuta has chosen the Vajasindi Estate for the new Lavico Etna DOC project. Here he decided to experiment with the peculiarities of mountain agriculture, giving voice to the two native vines, Carricante and Nerello Mascalese. From the rows of the Tenuta a Solicchiata, in the Piano dei Daini district, the black grapes of Nerello Mascalese give a structured and elegant wine, with good freshness and delicate flavor, in which the tannin is ripe and balanced. On the nose you can recognize notes of small red fruits, with balsamic and mineral sensations that blend with vanilla and spicy notes.
Ideal to accompany dishes with fragrant flavors based on red meats (e.g. mixed grill) and mature cheeses. Try it served cooler with… Grilled fish.
