Lavico Etna Rosso

Native to the slopes of Mount Etna, Nerello Mascalese takes on different characteristics depending on the area where it is grown. On the terraces of Tenuta di Vajasindi, these red grapes give life to Lavico Etna Rosso, an elegantly structured wine, partly aged in French oak barriques, fresh and delicately savory.

In a region where volcanic soil lends unique characteristics to the land, Duca di Salaparuta chose Tenuta di Vajasindi for its new Lavico Etna DOC project. Here, it decided to explore the distinctive qualities of mountain viticulture, giving voice to the two native grape varieties, Carricante and Nerello Mascalese. From the rows of vines at the estate in Solicchiata, in the Piano dei Daini district, Nerello Mascalese’s red grapes produce a structured and elegant wine, with good freshness and delicate savoriness, in which the tannins are mature and well balanced. On the nose, notes of small red berries emerge, with balsamic and mineral sensations blending with vanilla and spicy notes.

Ideal with dishes featuring fragrant flavors based on red meats (e.g., mixed grill) and mature cheeses. Try it served slightly cooler with… Grilled fish.
