In the deepest heart of the island, where summers are hot and winters are mild, Duca di Salaparuta has chosen to cultivate a grape variety beloved throughout Italy: Vermentino, from which Sentiero del Vento is born. Its Mediterranean aromas of aromatic herbs and marine notes, together with its full, velvety palate, characterized by freshness and a slight savoriness, offer a unique interpretation of the grape variety and embody the desire to explore new paths.

The wines of the Tenute tell the story of Duca di Salaparuta’s vision and its inevitable drive to experiment and evolve by finding new ways to interpret the best-known grape varieties. Sentiero del Vento is the latest example of this passion for oenological challenges. Traditionally cultivated mainly in Liguria, Tuscany, and Sardinia, Vermentino finds a new expression in Sicily, where the mixed calcareous-siliceous soil, mild winters, and hot, windy summers give it a new personality. To celebrate its 200th anniversary, Duca di Salaparuta has chosen a new look for Sentiero del Vento, featuring the photograph Sulla Battigia by Bagheria-born artist Mimmo Pintacuda.
